MEDIA RECAP:
Former President Donald Trump has proposed redirecting $3 billion in federal research funds—currently flowing to elite institutions like Harvard—toward vocational and trade schools. The announcement has ignited a national firestorm, with supporters hailing it as a long-overdue reset and critics decrying it as a threat to biomedical and scientific innovation.
Trump stated that America needs “more electricians, more welders, more builders—and fewer gender studies majors.” He argues that the modern economy values skills, not credentials, and that research grants have been disproportionately benefiting ivory tower institutions disconnected from everyday American life.
University leaders and establishment economists were quick to protest. One Harvard official called the proposal “anti-science” and warned it would damage America’s global research leadership. Others noted that these grants often fund life-saving medical research and technological breakthroughs.
But polls and Gen Z trends tell another story: millions of young Americans are already ditching the traditional college route, wary of the crushing debt and political indoctrination.
OUR TAKE:
This isn’t just a skirmish over funding—it’s a war over worldviews. For decades, universities like Harvard have acted as high priests of secular humanism, preaching progressive dogma while churning out graduates who are deeply credentialed but spiritually and practically bankrupt.
Now someone is finally asking the question homeschoolers have asked for years: what’s the point of “education” if it doesn’t produce wisdom, virtue, or useful skills?
Homeschooling families know this truth intimately: education isn’t about degrees—it’s about discipleship. Our children don’t need another diversity seminar. They need real-world competence, moral clarity, and a biblical foundation.
The panic from the education elite isn’t about science. It’s about control. Harvard isn’t scared of losing research grants. It’s scared of losing influence—over your children, your culture, and your future.
We say: bring it on. Redirect the money. Defund indoctrination. And while you’re at it, get every kid you know out of the government school system entirely.
Because the revolution in education isn’t coming from Washington or Boston—it’s happening in living rooms, kitchens, and garages across this nation.
And it’s called homeschooling.
